Off to California!

We were able to take the kids to San Diego the first week of March for a family vacation. We had so much fun! It was the kids' first ride in an airplane. Here are Emily and Porter waiting to exit the airplane on our arrival in Sunny California!

Cute Quips from the Kids

"We do too eat at church, Mom. We eat bread and water, just like in jail." Noah 5.2
Noah: "Mom, bees are kind of furry like capatillers." 4.11
Porter was at Skateland and had to give the girl at the front counter something valuable to get the equipment to play air hockey. He said he had to give her a "quadralateral"! 11.11
Noah (as I was trying to put lotion on him) "No, Mom! Don't soften me!" 4.9
Emily (as we drove past a group of jr. high cheerleaders): "Look, Mom, there's a whole line of ricka-racka-roo girls!" 7.9
I was in the store with Aleise and every time I would tell her to sit down in the cart or not to touch something, she looked at me and said, "You're onery." 2.3
Emily: "Mom, are zebras endangered?" Noah: "Yes, zebras are in danger. Lions eat them!" 4.7
Noah: "Mom, I am a big fan of that swingset." 4.4
Noah: "I like that song we sang in church today about the gummy saints." (Come, Come Ye Saints) 4.4
Emily: Yawning isn't because you're tired ~ yawning is air conditioning for your brain. 7.3
Aleise was trying to tell me that she wanted a piece of cheese but I thought she was saying juice (which really means milk, so complicated!) You could tell that she understood that I wasn't getting it because she wasn't saying it right. Finally, she scrunched up her face like she does when we are taking pictures and tell her to "say cheese!" and said CHEESE! I got it! 1.10
Noah: Mom, you are not the most beautiful thing in the world. But you are beautiful. But God is the most beautiful thing in the whole world. 4.1 How can you argue with that?
Emily (waiting for me to explain some schoolwork to her): Mom, I am suffering here! 7.3
We were talking about our upcoming trip to California. Noah was very excited and said, "I hope God doesn't kill me on THIS trip." Me too, buddy, me too! --Noah 3.11 This kid makes me laugh every day!
"Behold, I deliver you into the hands of the Lamanites!" -- Noah loves to play scripture heroes, his favorite is Ammon. 3.11
"I thought you wanted your hair blonde. If you want it blonde, why do you color it that color?" -- Emily 7.2
"I think they should call it balling, not bowling; because you throw balls, not bowls." -- Noah 3.6
