Porter didn't want to go to school today because it was my birthday (what a kid). He was pleading his case, listing all the subjects that would be covered today (one of which was science) and why it would be okay if he wasn't there. Kevin told him he had to go anyway... Fast forward about an hour. We are all in our one bathroom getting ready for the day and Porter and his dad are talking about space and gravity and black holes. Porter is rattling off all these facts about how much he would weigh on which planet and how long the days and years are on each of the respective planets and that a black hole is a collapsed star that provides raw material for new stars, and on and on. Wow! Fourth grade science doesn't teach this, does it? It sure is a good thing that he didn't miss science today!
